18 Charities benefit from Tui Balms
Tui Balms is a workers’ co-operative whereby they aim to continuously improve their working together, and set an example for a sustainable co-created business model.
Tui Balms operates with minimal management hierarchies and a flat wage structure that values the participation in the business, rather than creating premiums for personal skills. Decision-making within the co-operative is generally by consensus on all important matters. Consequently, every staff member’s contribution to the business is seen as equally important.
All the profits of Tui Balms that are not used to develop the business (at least 5% of all sales) are donated to NZ registered charitable trusts. The range of charities receiving donations has been extensive and 18 charities benefited from the Tui Balms’ turnover in the 2016/17 financial year.
Tui Balms offer Lip Balms, Healing Balms, Insect Repellents, Massage Balms, Sports & Outdoor Balms, as well as Baby & Family Gift Sets.
Tui Balms products contain nothing that doesn’t need to be in there: no synthetic fragrances, artificial preservatives, emulsifiers, colouring agents, stabilisers, parabens or other chemical additives. They also contain no water, which reduces the need for preservatives and emulsifiers. Vitamin E sourced from non-GMO soybeans acts a natural preservative in the Tui Balms products.
Tui Balms makes every effort to ensure that all ingredients are free of genetic engineering and
